Dataproducts Corp has moved its LB line of band printers up market with launch of the LB 1515, a high speed line printer that runs at 1,500 lpm and joins the already announced 300 and 600 lpm models. The entire LB Series has tractors above and below the print station, for better control and bidirectional motion of the paper and the LB 1515 has higher torque motors and heavier duty 8-pin tractors than other members to accommodate the faster print speeds. A paper puller is also standard on the LB 1515. Microprocessors enable the LB to perform a detailed analysis of the machine’s operating condition at start-up, checking every hammer in the hammer bank as well as other critical assemblies. A menu-driven control panel provides push button control of many features that usu-ally need mechanical adjustments. The LB 1515 comes with a triple interface including Dataproducts Parallel, Centronics Parallel and RS-232 Serial. IBM-compatible Twinax and Coax interfaces will be available later date. The Woodland Hills, California company is offer-ing the LB 1515 from first quarter of next year at a one-off $14,995.
