Andersen Consulting yesterday extended its Foundation full life cycle application development environment with nine new products: Method/1 is an MS-DOS automated systems development methodology and project management toolset; Plan/1 is an automated local network-based tool that provides an engineering approach for prioritising; Design/1 for OS/2 is an analysis and design tool for linking workstation-based client applications with a variety of workstation and host-based server applications; Install/1 for IMS/DC features a complete development environment and an application architecture for high-function applications; Install/1 For VAX/VMS puts the Foundation development facilities on the DEC VAX, and there are versions of Install for Bull SA’s GCOS 7 and GCOS 8; Install now also offers a Batch option which provides an application architecture and suite of services to support development of high-volume, concurrent, restartable batch applications; and Foundation for Co-operative Processing provides application support services to facilitate the implementation of peer-to-peer applications; the accountants also announced that work was under way to do versions of the Foundation family for running under Unix operating systems.
