IBM UK has launched an electronic trading package for National and Regional Health Service authorities and their suppliers. Called the NHS5, it is based on the PS/1 with a 30Mb hard disk, and it includes a modem from Tricom Communications Ltd, a PS/1 printer, one year’s bundled use of IBM’s Information Network and an electronic data interchange and electronic mail program from Entity Software Ltd. Included with MS-DOS 4.0 and Works is IBM’s Personal Computer Information Exchange Interface program. The NHS5 – five minutes and you’re in business, says IBM – is currently available from two IBM dealers, Computacenter and SCC, and they are quoting around UKP3,500 for the complete package.
