SOS Online Backup and Major Geeks have entered in an agreement for Major Geeks to use SOS Online Backup’s local and off-site backup technology in their Major Geeks Online Backup offering.

In partnering with Major Geeks, SOS Online Backup will offer the Major Geeks community a backup program, which will support multiple machines from a single account.

According to SOS Online Backup, users will be able to backup all types of files across networks and devices. Major Geeks Online Backup will support open file and database server files and email archives out of the box. Files may be restored through the Major Geeks software client or the web portal. User data is encrypted and stored in multiple data centres with SOS Online Backup.

Besides protecting users against crashed disks, accidental deletion, data corruption or viruses, Major Geeks Online Backup will also allow access to their content on the Apple iPhones, BlackBerry smartphones and other web-enabled mobile devices, the company said.

Jim McMahon, co-owner of MajorGeeks.com, said: We didn’t want anyone to spend months trying to reconstruct lost data like we did, so we went out to find the best possible solution with the best possible partner. With Major Geeks Online Backup, you can protect your important data, photos, music and digital content easily and securely.
