By CBR Staff Writer

IBM yesterday announced new interfaces for its 6262 impact line printer family that enable the printers to be used by personal computers and the RS/6000. There are three models with the parallel, RS-232C and 422A interfaces – the A12, A14, and A22 running at 1,200, 1,400 and 2,200 lpm respectively. They are supported by the AT, PS/2 and to Token-Ring nets using one or the other connected to the A model printer, on the RT and RS/6000, and on the AEA adaptor of the 3174 controller and the ASCII subsystem of the 9370. The A12 is $25,650 or $1,700 a month; the A14 is $30,080 or $2,005 a month and the A22, $42,640 or $2,840 a month. All are available from August 24 in the US.
