Amstrad Plc is due to make a statement today answering a story in the British Broadcasting Corporation staff newspaper Aerial which reports that the BBC Engineering department considers the PC1512 Personalike unsafe because of an exposed bare metal plate from which users could get a serious shock; Paul Jarrett, head of Information Technology for BBC Engineering is quoted in the magazine as saying that the machine should be used only with an isolating transformer.
