McCormack & Dodge Ltd, the UK end of the Boston, Massachusetts software subsidiary of New York-based Dun & Bradstreet Corp has launched new financial management products under its customer controlled banner for its Millennium environment. The company unveiled General Ledger:Millennium 3.0, a complete rewrite of its GL:M 2.0 general ledger; PC:Link 3.0 an enhanced version of micro-to-mainframe application PC:Link 2.0 and a stand-alone currency management system CM:M. All are available for 370-type mainframes under MVS/XA and DOS/VSE, and ICL VME versions for Series 39 and 2900 are under development. GL:3.0 enables users to define their own keys, structure databases and control how data is stored and accessed. A key currency management feature of CM:M enables local offices to report in one currency, consolidate to regional offices in another and report to head office in another, continuing up to nine levels. PC Link 3.0 offers an MS-DOS front-end environment which enables users to access both mainframe and local applications without toggling from one environment to the other. Key enhancements are scripting, enabling users to automate commonly used mainframe and MS-DOS commands and user defined menus enabling easier accessing of micro and mainframe applications. The company is hoping to boost sales and claims to have turned over UKP12m worth of products in the UK for the year to July l987. It employs 120 staff at its Bristol, Avon, office.
