Avineon, a provider of IT, geospatial, engineering and program management services, has won the Electronic FAA Accelerated and Simplified Tasks (eFAST) contract from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Under the contract, Avineon will provide air transportation support, engineering services, information systems development, and computer systems support. The seven-year contract has a five-year base period with two one-year options and a ceiling value of $2bn.

The company said that eFAST master ordering agreement (MOA) enables access by FAA personnel to pre-qualified small businesses that provide comprehensive management, engineering and technical support services. In addition, it also enables Avineon to expand its aviation offerings, which include nearly 15 years experience with the Naval Flight Information Group (NAVFIG).

In addition, the company also supports the Fleet Numerical Meteorology and Oceanography Centre (FNMOC), where the company provides optimised meteorological and oceanographic data with geospatially enabled tools, automated data sharing with coalition forces, and advanced visualsation of particulate matter movement to assist tactical, operational and strategic planning.

Hee Sun Choung, senior vice president of federal systems at Avineon, said: Our experience with multiple federal agencies involved in such areas as flight planning, weather impacts on aviation, and related areas has resulted in an in-depth knowledge of the aviation community’s technical requirements and business drivers needed to ensure we deliver outstanding results.
