McDonnell Douglas Information Systems, Santa Ana, California has finally released its Series 14/100 System, announced 11 months ago, which enables AT-alikes to support multiple users under the Reality implementation of the Pick operating system, while MS-DOS runs concurrently – switching between the two is via a single keystroke. The system is a fairly serious computer, involving a 68020-based co-processor board with 1Mb of memory, with support for up to eight devices, which can be any mix of user terminals, printers, modems and other peripherals. The thing has been in beta test for up to six months at some 30 sites, and prices for the board start at $3,000.
