America Movil and Nokia have agreed to offer messaging services on multiple devices to customers in Latin America. The agreement adds to the collaboration between both companies in music and maps, to offer multimedia options on mobile devices in the region.
Through this agreement, the Nokia Messaging service is expected to be available to America Movil customers in seven countries before the end of the year. America Movil is claimed to be the first operator to announce a Latin America-wide offering of Nokia Messaging to customers.
Nokia said that, through its Messaging service, America Movil customers would be able to aggregate and manage multiple email accounts while on the move in a single application, using a user interface.
The company also claims that the messaging service would enable consumers to access up to 10 personal email accounts. By using it, users would be able to read, send, forward and reply to emails, view subfolders, download and read attachments and also attach files to emails in real time, on a Nokia device.
America Movil and Nokia have agreed to launch Nokia Messaging first in five countries this summer with the Nokia E63, Nokia E71 Black, Nokia E72 and Nokia E75.
