VeriSign Inc has beefed up its Digital ID digital certificate software with a few new features. Along with name, electronic- mail, address and unique serial number, the one-stop registration format can log country, zip code, age and gender. VeriSign has also got together with the United States Fidelity & Guaranty Co to offer insurance against economic loss, theft, impersonation, corruption or loss of use through using a VeriSign Digital ID. The NetSure Protection Plan will be included in the price of a full-featured version of Digital ID, starting from next month. Digital ID now also supports RSA Data Security’s S/MIME Secure Multipurpose Internet Mail Extension Protocol.
