Moscow’s regional telephone company Moskovskaya Gorodskaya Telefonnaya Set, has said it no longer wants France Telecom to provide the city’s public telephones because they are susceptible to costly phone fraud. France Telecom confirmed the news. The 300 public telephones already installed in Moscow are to be ripped out and replaced with phones from Spanish company, Amper. MGTS says they are more effective against fraud and plans to install some 2,000 of them across the Russian capital by September.
