EUnet International BV has moved a step closer to being able to offer global access to its internet services following an agreement with Asia Internet Holding Co Ltd of Tokyo, Japan. The pair say they will establish direct connections between their networks world wide, as well as reselling each others products and services, and jointly developing Virtual Private Networks services. Asia Internet Holding has its A-Bone – the high speed Asian-Pacific Internet Backbone, and its parent Internet Initiative Japan Inc also has a backbone to the US. This will enable the alliance to offer a network that will connect to all three continents. EUnet will sell to European companies with Asian operations, and Asia Internet will sell the opposite way. EUnet says it is also looking to partner US Internet service providers to further expand its operations.
