A student at Loughborough University in the UK has come up with a device that will pour the perfect pint, leaving the traditional barmen and women somewhat superfluous: the Daily Telegraph reports that Pete Friend had his flash of inspiration when he was pulling pints at the Student Union bar and decided to work on the project as part of his design and technology degree; the device consists of a sprung cradle that holds the glass against the tap nozzle at 45% before slowly moving it to a vertical position; but Friend doesn’t want to see the automatic bar emerging and is targeting his invention at nightclubs.
