WordPerfect Corp original Pete Peterson, who was the sixth employee at WordPerfect and who now claims to have been default chief executive, has a new company these days, which he runs along with key WordPerfect programmers Dan Baker, Gary Rasmussen, Mark Haggard and Dale Taylor. The company, Orem, Utah-based WordPlace Inc, which was formed in January 1996, has now reached version 1.1 of its Yeah Write for Windows word processor, which has a download size of less than 860Kb, including speller and documentation, and is aimed at those users finally fed up with the usual bloatware. It is available for $15, or for free in an unregistered, basic version. The company’s Web site can be found at http://www.wordplace.com.
