All credit to Client-Server News for bringing this to our attention, but we’re still not quite ready to believe it: Utah-based Timpanogas Research Group, the Novell Inc breakaway formerly known as the Wolf Mountain Group, has apparently struck gold – literally – in the Utah hills. Its web site at http://www.timpanogas.com/gold is full of details of the claims it has laid to what could turn out to be many millions of dollars of gold and platinum deposits, which company staff will mine using environmentally safe methods – in other words by hand. Timpanogas is currently in the middle of a multi-million dollar legal dispute with Novell over rights to the Wolf Mountain technology its founders began developing while still employees of Novell. Client Server News claims that Timpanogas, which has already spent a quarter of a million in legal costs, will henceforth be paying its lawyers in pure gold.
