Verizon Wireless and Samsung Mobile have announced the availability of the Omnia II, a full-touch all-in-one smartphone powered by Windows Mobile 6.5, allowing customers to get connected to their corporate and personal e-mail accounts and synchronised with their schedules and contacts.
According to Samsung, the Omnia II features a 3.7-inch AMOLED responsive touch screen, a virtual QWERTY keyboard with Swype technology that allows customers to input text with one continuous finger or stylus motion across the screen keyboard. It comes with a choice of black with red accents on the battery cover.
The Omnia II also comes with Widget Gallery that provides customers with the ability to download free widgets to their handsets. In addition, it features HTML web browsing capabilities with Opera 9.5 browser, access to social networking applications such as YouTube, Facebook and MySpace, with TouchWiz 2.0 user interface, a 5.0 megapixel camera with flash and auto-focus and camcorder and decoder with DNSe technology and on-device editing capabilities, the company said.
In addition, the new smartphone comes with Wi-Fi technology, 8GB internal memory and expandable memory of up to 16GB with microSD memory card. It supports Verizon Wireless services, including V CAST Music with Rhapsody, video on demand, song ID, visual voice mail, VZW tones, VZ Navigator, mobile IM. It
The Omnia II smartphone will be available beginning from December 2 for $199.99, after a $100 mail-in rebate with a new 2 year customer agreement from Verizon Wireless.
