SmarterTools has released SmarterMail 6.x, the new version of mail server software developed to enable mailbox migration, enhance Microsoft Outlook, mobile synchronisation, message archiving, and efficiency of spam protection.
SmarterTools said that the new version of SmarterMail can sync email, calendars, contacts, tasks and notes between mobile devices in real time using Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync. The company allows customers to add Exchange ActiveSync to the mailboxes that need the technology.
According to SmarterTools, the exchange-level features provided by the new version of SmarterMail includes: antispam/antivirus; reporting; events / notifications; throttling; message archiving; intrusion detection/prevention; enhanced synchronisation with Microsoft Outlook; support for BlackBerry, iPhone, and Windows Mobile devices; and optional Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync.
The company said that the new version of SmarterMail also introduces the Commtouch Premium Antispam add-on for users to enhance SmarterMail’s antispam. With the add-on, it is expected to block spams from users’ inboxes.
The new mailbox migration tool simplifies the process of migrating mail servers or service providers. Individual users are ensured transition from products and services like Microsoft Exchange, Gmail, and Yahoo, claimed SmarterTools.
