Intel Inside is widely regarded as one of the most clever advertising campaigns of all time – because it elevated a component most people would fail to recognize into as much importance as name of the PC manufacturer. But rival processor manufacturer Advanced Micro Devices Inc claims that research shows that among small to medium sized enterprises, 78% of buyers thought the speed of the processor was more important than its manufacturer. What a pity therefore that AMD has consistently failed to produce sufficient Pentium II compatible processors (CI No 3,263) to meet the demand that this new climate has produced.
