America Online Inc has announced that it will integrate Microsoft Corp’s Outlook Express email tool into its existing email client, and the integrated product will be available with version 4.0 of AOL’s software, which is slated for some time in the first half of next year. It means that AOL users using Windows 95 and NT will be able to use Outlook to compose and receive their messages. Outlook supports internet standards such as MIME and HTML and Dynamic HTML, which is what appeals to AOL. AOL says subscribers will also be able to choose to use Outlook as a standalone product if they wish.
