Websense has expanded its partnership with Juniper Networks to offer Websense content security offerings with Juniper Networks SRX Series Services Gateways.
The company said that the expanded partnership covers its Web Security Gateway and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) technologies and is designed to leverage Juniper’s security infrastructure to enable joint customers to build secure Web 2.0 and content-rich networks.
The joint offering is expected to enhance network topology and consolidate security functionality to optimise network service and performance. Juniper’s SRX Series combined with Websense Web Security Gateway with real-time content analytics, integrated data loss prevention and centralised management delivers lower cost of ownership by reducing the number of security nodes and related management.
According to Websense, in addition to real-time content scanning and classification, the Web Security Gateway interoperates with Juniper’s SRX Series to leverage security intelligence gathered from real-time data collecting systems of the Websense ThreatSeeker Network and Websense continuously updated database of classified URLs across more than 90 categories, in more than 50 languages.
Devin Redmond, vice president of product management at Websense, said: To protect enterprise data from threats, while preserving network performance and minimising total cost of ownership it is critical for network infrastructure, network security and content security to be tightly integrated.
