They’re doing this on purpose: first we get a news release telling us that Ken Olsen has joined GWI Software Inc as president and chief operating officer, then immediately afterwards we hear that Gordon Bell has become chairman of RFID Systems Corp. We’ve never heard of those two companies, but isn’t Olsen none other than the founder of Digital Equipment Corp and Bell the chief architect of that company’s fabled VAX minicomputer? Apparently not. Ken Olsen of GWI, a groupware software house, is a business administration veteran who was previously at CFI ProServices Inc, while Gordon Bell was the founder of systems house Canadian Dynamics Ltd of power supply and battery charger fame, and joins security specialist RFID as it prepares to enter the automatic identification market, appropriately enough.
