Borland International Inc, the veteran Scotts Valley software developer has reported second quarter net profits of $1.5m, against net losses last time of $14.3m, on revenues that rose 8.1% to $42.5m. Net earnings per share were $0.03 in the quarter and six months. The company shipped its first Java development tool, JBuilder during the quarter. Borland beat the Wall Street estimates for the quarter by a healthy thee cents. Net profits in the six months were $1.6m, against losses previously of $36.1m, which included a restructuring charge of $1.1m, on revenues up 9.1% to $84.5m.
