Iprint Inc, the Moffett Field, California internet print shop, has raised $3.3m in venture capital and private investor-based finance to continue with its expansion plans. The company is still privately owned and provides an innovative on-line design and printing service. Iprint allows anyone with a browser to access its web site and design their own work from a combination of templates and library images. Customers can then have the finished product professionally printed and delivered by FedEx. Iprint has focused initially on the popular areas of business cards, headed paper and wedding/party invitations. The company is claiming to be able to discount conventional printing costs by as much as 40%. Iprint also licenses its Ikiosk software to commercial printing shops.
