Jot-It! Corp says it has settled all litigation initiated by 3M Corp through the previously announced change of its corporate name to Sideware Systems, as well as the renaming of its core products, now known as Tagalongs and Net Notions. The company’s single-user and groupware version of software post-it notes had drawn the ire of 3M, which manufactures the real thing. As part of the settlement, 3M Corp has released JOT-IT! from all monetary claims. The corporate name change awaits only the formality of a shareholder vote, and Jot-It! management sees it as an opportunity to distinguish itself as the creator of the sideware market – software that creates an environment where a program can run parallel to another application and interact with it, without affecting the integrity of it.
