Pkware, a provider of enterprise data-centric security software, and Fidelis Security Systems, a provider of data leakage prevention (DLP) offerings, have launched a joint content-aware encryption offering.

The companies claim that the new service helps organisations safeguard valuable digital assets and address increasing regulatory compliance requirements for the protection of data such as personally identifiable information.

Using the new content-aware encryption offering, enterprise security and risk professionals are able to set centralised policy management controls for automatic detection and encryption of sensitive information contained in email messages and email attachments, the companies said.

According to Pkware, in the joint offering, the Fidelis Extrusion Prevention System’s XPS Mail appliance analyses email messages and their file attachments as they traverse the corporate network and marks sensitive messages and attachments for automatic downstream encryption by SecureZIP encryption platform.

Bob Winter, senior vice president of channels and alliances for Pkware, said: “The strength of integrating our solutions will allow global enterprises to reap the benefits of content-aware encryption, giving them the power to enforce their corporate encryption policies in a seamless user-friendly manner.”
