CSC has won a task order from the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to provide IT infrastructure and cyber support to the National Protection and Programs Directorate’s Office of Cyber Security and Communications. It was awarded under the Enterprise Acquisition Gateway for Leading Edge Solutions (EAGLE) contract, originally awarded to CSC in July 2006.
Under the terms of the new task order, CSC will provide program management and system integration services to the Office of Cyber Security and Communications. It will also design and build an expanded watch floor that will integrate national security capabilities from the US Computer Emergency Response Team (US CERT) and the National Coordinating Center of the National Communications System.
Reportedly, watch floor is an environment to help decision-makers and operators monitor and respond to homeland security incidents, bringing together cyber, and emergency preparedness and response expertise.
According to CSC, the objective of the DHS EAGLE program is to provide an acquisition vehicle for a full range of IT services, technical and management expertise and solution-related enabling products. The companies teaming with CSC are Imtech Corporation d/b/a Activu Corporation of Denville NJ; TWD & Associates of Arlington, Va; and Woodtronics, a division of Cerain of South Williamsport, Pa.
In support of government-wide cyberspace security initiatives, CSC implements intrinsically secure architectures, technologies and information assurance strategies to mitigate risks to clients. Other DHS work includes providing system and network administration for the EINSTEIN 2 system, the company said.
