Auspex Systems Inc, Santa Clara has won an $8m contract for some 25 of its Network File System servers from Digital Equipment Corp for use with DEC’s networked Unix workstations and computers: the NS 5500 and NS 3000 NetServers support up to eight Ethernet networks and from 20 to more than 200 workstations per server using a proprietary functional multiprocessor architecture and DEC will market, install and service the servers integrated with its own workstations and servers.
