Apple Computer Inc is holding technology exchange discussions with both Sharp Corp of Japan and Thomson SA of France. In the case of Sharp, the Japanese company says that discussions have centred on development of consumer products and flat panel displays, and marketing agreements that could include Sharp joining Canon Inc’s Canon Sales arm as a marketer of the Apple Macintosh in Japan. In the case of Thomson the talks are with its Thomson Consumer Electronics side: they also involve France Telecom and they centre on multimedia terminals for video, graphics, speech and text.
