Motorola Inc launched a Commonwealth of Independent States road show in St Petersburg in the month of May to exhibit a variety of different communications equipment, software and components: according to Parviz Mokhtary, the company’s vice-director and Eastern and Central Europe business director, Motorola plans to set up a representative office in Moscow and to establish several showrooms around the Commonwealth; he wants to find dealers and distributors and to establish several joint ventures with Russian institutions involved in high-technology business; Mokhtary says that Motorola is prepared to start manufacturing in Russia only if sales in the CIS exceed 100,000 units a year.
