AT&T Co announced yesterday that it has bought an 80% stake in Internet Kft, a Hungarian distributor of business telephone systems: one of Internet’s two founding partners, KFKI, the Central Research Institute for Physics, sold its entire stake to AT&T, and the other partner, Tibor Szekeres, company president, retains 20%; financial terms of the pact were not disclosed; headquartered in Budapest, the new AT&T unit will be named Internet, an AT&T Company; it sells, installs, and services AT&T Definity communications systems, Merlin Legend and Partner systems, and associated telecommunications equipment for large and small businesses; it has 32 employees, and it has racked up aggregate sales of $15m since it began its operations two years ago.
