But despite the growing number of colour notebook computers on the market, Apple Computer Inc may hold off for as long as a year before introducing a colour model to itsPowerBook line, MacWeek reports: Apple is not expected to include a colour PowerBook in either of its two autumn announcements, nor is the colour machine expected to be ready until at least the second quarter of 1993; as reported, this autumn, Apple is expected to offer finer resolution grey-scale PowerBooks with faster CPUs and increased memory, but is unhappy with the state of colour-screen technology, its high price tag and the amount of power an active-matrix screen would sap from the PowerBook’s average battery life of two hours.
