Project management, training, software and services company Admiral Plc has established a research group dedicated to developing client-server software for fault-tolerant systems builder, Tandem Computers Inc: the first fruits of its work comprise a two-component Windows management information system that enables users to pull data from a NonStop SQL database into a local SQL database on a front-end client; the group is now developing a client-server environment that will enable a personal computer local area network to access Tandem hardware over a wide area network; Admiral is a Tandem Alliance Group member and has been using Tandem architectures to develop client-server applications since 1987.
