The Semiconductor Industry Association’s book-to-bill ratio for September slipped to 1.06 from the August figure, which has been revised upwards to 1.09 from the reported 1.08. Average orders for the three months to September rose just 0.9% at $1,648.7m, 36.8% up on the year-ago figure. Shipments on the same moving average rose 3.1% to $1552.4m, up 17.1% from the September 1991 figure. Actual shipments for the month of September rose 20.1% at $1769.8m compared with the August figure.
