New York-based SelecTronics Inc has formed a joint venture with Euro Direct Marketing, a division of Strafor Facom Corp of Strasbourg, France: the new company, called EuroTronics, will become the master distributor for SelecTronics’ handheld products in Europe, and the USSR; the new company will continue to distribute products through SelecTronics’ existing European distributors in Europe; EuroTronics will market SelecTronics entire range, including the Berlitz line of handheld translators and the WordFinder line of spellers; also, SelecTronics will develop custom handheld electronic products; the company is to be based in Pittsford, New York and headed by Robert Atkins, formerly at SelecTronics as the international vice-president.
