Apple has two new ‘ergonomically correct’ products – its Adjustable Keyboard and the Desktop BusMouse II. The new keyboard is divided into two hinged sections, enabling users to find the right angle for them. The right and left halves of the standard alphanumeric keyboard can be split up to 30 degrees so that hands are placed in a straight line, for example. It will be available in February, priced at $220. The new mouse is elongated and rounded, to fit the contours of the hand and support the palm; and the tracking ball is in the front of the mouse, so that the cursor can be controlled with the fingertips rather than wrist or hand movements, Apple says. The new mouse replaces the current one and from February, will be bundled with Apple computers or sold separately for $80.
