Brooktree Corp, San Diego has completed acquisition of all assets and some liabilities of Base2 Systems Inc, Boulder, Colorado designer and marketer of integrated circuits for the telecommunications market. The price paid was $9m cash up front and up to $7m more on an earn-out basis, conditions for which include continued employment of key Base2 employees over the next three years. Base2 Systems designs and markets systems-level circuits used in switching, transmission and test equipment for use by telephone operating companies, long distance carriers, private network operators and equipment developers. It did $800,000 pre-tax on sales of $1.9m for the last quarter of 1992 and employs 14.
