Ex-Qualcomm executive Dr Murthy Renduchintala has been appointed as the president of Intel and will take charge of its Client and Internet of Things (IoT) Businesses and Systems Architecture Group.
Under the leadership of Renduchintala, Intel expects to align product design, engineering and business direction to strengthen its strategy and accelerate execution across the communications, device and IoT segments.
Intel recently created the Client and Internet of Things (IoT) Businesses and Systems Architecture Group which shares a common set of technologies that are required for mobile SoC and connectivity leadership.
Renduchintala was with Qualcomm for more than 10 years and left the company following a leadership shakeup.
During his tenure he served as the president of Qualcomm Technologies and later went on to become co-president of Qualcomm CDMA Technologies and was responsible for leading Qualcomm’s semiconductor business.
According to Intel, the 50 year old executive has expertise in system-on-chip (SoC), mobile and IoT areas.
