Fremont, California-based MiTac is shipping its M4125 and M4033 modular 80486DX2 desktop and fileserver computers for personal computer and Unix environments: the 80486SX-25 based 4125 supports the DX2-50 central processing unit, has a MiTac motherboard with ETEQ 486 chipset, 64Kb cache, five expansion slots, 4Mb RAM, 3.5 and 5.25 drives; it comes in desktop and mini-tower configurations and costs $1,150; the 33MHz 80486-based 4033 supports 50MHz 80486 and 80486DX2-50/66 central processors, uses a Conteq chip set on a MiTac motherboard, 128Kb cache and six AT expansion slots; the M4033 includes desktop, mini and large-tower options and costs $1,960; both boards have a MiTac multi-input-output board, 512Kb Super VGA controller, hard disk controllor, two serial, one parallel and one game port; Mitac relocated to Fremont last August; its new site runs two lines producing 10,000 systems per month.
