The widening of the Federal Trade Commission investigation of Microsoft Corp’s way of doing business is significant threat to the company: mouse manufacturers are frustrated at Microsoft’s bundling of its mouse with Windows, Hewlett-Packard Co is understood to be unhappy that Microsoft appeared ready to endorse its object-oriented technology from NewWave and is now going it alone on object-oriented extensions to its products, and according to the Wall Street Journal, Go Corp is considering suing Microsoft, saying that the company expressed an interest in writing applications for Go’s handwriting recognition software, was shown Go’s technology and then ended talks, only to come out with its own handwriting recognition software.
