Cypress Semiconductor Inc, in the news for its purchase of Control Data Corp’s VTC Inc CMOS fab in Minneapolis, has given Santa Clara, California-based Applied Materials Inc a $7m order for chemical vapour deposition and physical vapour deposition systems for installation at its San Jose, California and Round Rock, Texas plants; deliveries were scheduled to start late last year.
