And Microsoft Corp has announced as a product the version of Windows that comes bundled with Tandy Corp’s new Video Information System multimedia machine: it calls it Microsoft Modular Windows and says it is optimised for use with televisions as the display device; it has therefore been tested with hundreds of users to make the software easy to see and use from five to 10 feet away – multimedia titles feature large, three-dimensional buttons and colourful icons, and support a simple point-and-shoot operation with a remote control; enhancements for memory cards and software motion video are also included and in the Tandy machine, it and MS-DOS are embedded in ROM.
