Digital Equipment Corp loves teasing people by showing off portable computers that are not announced products – as far as anyone can recall, the company has never yet actually launched a portable computer of its own design and manufacture. At Comdex, the company was previewing yet another portable that will likely never see a storefront, an Alpha-based notebook with a 21066 chip running at 320MHz, capable of running Windows NT. The Low End AXP Notebook has two PCMCIA slots, estimated two-hour battery life, colour monitor, and up to 64Mb in a 7 lbs package.
