Hasbro is suing California-based computer maker Asus over the use of Transformer Prime name.
Toy maker Hasbro owns certain trademarks under the Transformers franchise.
The latest tablet from Asus is named Transformer Prime.
Hasbro said in a statement to PaidContent that it continues to aggressively protect its brands and products and the specific actions they are taking today against Asus underscores yet again Hasbro’s willingness to pursue companies who misappropriate our intellectual property for their own financial gain.
Hasbro is seeking damages from Asus and a temporary injunction to prevent it from selling the tablet which is currently available.
Asus could not be reached for comment.
