Netflix and BBC Worldwide, the commercial arm of the BBC, said both the companies have entered into a digital licensing agreement that will bring a broad range of BBC series to Netflix members in the UK and Ireland.
BBC shows including Torchwood, Spooks, Miss Marple and others will be available for Netflix members to view instantly in the UK and Ireland streamed over the Internet to connected TVs, tablets, game consoles, computers and mobile phones from the beginning of early 2012.
Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos said BBC shows are a big favourite of our over 20 million streaming members in the US, Canada and Latin America. "We are incredibly proud to make these high quality programmes available to Netflix members in the UK and Ireland," added Sarandos.

BBC Worldwide has similar digital licensing agreements with Virgin Media, BT Vision and Blink Box.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
