International Telecom Japan Ltd, the Japanese New Common Carrier that buys its capacity from Kokusai Denshin Denwa Co, has filed an application with the Ministry of Posts & Telecommunications for approval to offer its ServeNet virtual private network service between Japan, the US, and Hong Kong: the service will be run in conjunction with AT&T Co, MCI Communications Corp and Hong Kong Telecom International Ltd; savings of 7% on normal tariffs are being claimed for both overseas and domestic users, with up to 20% discounts for users of its international leased lines.
