Fujitsu has released Interstage Application Server V10.1, the latest version of its application execution platform.

Interstage Application Server V10.1 supports Java EE 5, J2EE, COBOL, C, and also supports latest version of Java, Java EE 6, so that applications developed in multiple programming languages can be simultaneously executed on one application server.

Applications developed using the latest Java EE 6, as well as work-in-progress, can be executed without making any adjustments to the existing systems or operations and the new application server uses Fujitsu’s Smart Set-up feature for easy deployments, and Smart Tuning feature making application responses more stable.

As the server supports Java EE 6, descriptors for web.xml essential for previous web applications can now be represented in one line, resulting reduced amount of code for an application by up to half of what was previously required, improving development efficiency.

With the new server, operational verification of applications created can be performed by using Java VM so there is no need of an additional application server for testing purposes, improving development efficiency.

In addition, the new server supports jQuery Mobile, an application development framework with an established reputation in the area of smart devices, such as smartphones and tablets and a single application, can be used for various smart devices running iOS, Android, or Windows Phone, as the applications created are not dependent on a specific model type.
