Wireless broadband network firm LightSquared and wireless offerings provider Quantum Networks have signed a wholesale network agreement that will enable Quantum to bundle 4G wireless connectivity with its products.

With LightSquared’s 4G-LTE network, Quantum will become a "one-stop-shop" by bundling connectivity with its devices to meet the needs of its customers who want access to wireless broadband services.

Quantum will also be able to generate new recurring revenue streams by expanding beyond its traditional offerings, and taking advantage of thedemand for wireless connectivity.

Quantum is LightSquared’s 33rd wholesale customer, and part of growing customer base that includes wireless carriers, device manufacturers, nationwide retailers, regional phone companies and mobile content providers.

Quantum Networks chief executive officer Ari Zoldan said with LightSquared, Quantum can now go the final mile and deliver the most advanced wireless services to Quantum’s customers.

"Before, we were only able to meet customers halfway while they scrambled for reliable connectivity. Now we can offer a complete communications solution while also maximizing our revenue opportunity," said Zoldan.

LightSquared chairman and chief executive officer Sanjiv Ahuja said Quantum Networks epitomises the entrepreneurial and innovative spirit that will drive the growth of wireless broadband in the country.

"LightSquared and its wholesale business model are empowering bold companies such as Quantum Networks to create new revenue streams and foster much-needed competition in the U.S. wireless market," said Sanjiv.
