Amdahl Corp announced that it shipped its first eight-way multiprocessor from its Sunnyvale plant on Friday, September 25, and that the 5995-8650M, equipped with Amdahl’s Enhanced Performance Feature was installed at the customer’s data centre this week: the customer is believed to be British Telecommunications Plc at its Bletchley, Buckinghamshire base here in the UK, where it will run single-image.
