Brentwood, Essex-based Amstrad Plc has sold its remaining 1.37m shares in Micron Technology Inc, Boise, Idaho, selling the stake for UKP13.6m. When Amstrad first bought its 3.57m shares – a 9% stake – in the memory chip company back in 1988 in order to ensure continuity of chip supplies, it paid UKP43m. In April, it sold 2.2m of the stock for UKP19.1m, leaving Amstrad facing a loss of UKP10.4m.
